What is Get Active Victoria?

Get Active Victoria is inspiration for all Victorians – regardless of age, ability or location – to move more, every day. It’s an ever-growing resource of ideas, tips and tools on how to be more active and feel great as a result.

With our Activity Tracker, participants can track their physical activity to reach the recommended 30+ minutes per day. The tracker can be accessed after joining Get Active Victoria, then used manually, or automatically when synced with a Fitbit.

What are the benefits of joining Get Active Victoria?

Participants gain access to an ever-growing set of resources including: workouts, games, challenges, articles, and recipes. Plus, they can use our free Activity Tracker with Fitbit integration.

Registration

How and when can I join?

Joining Get Active Victoria is easy – follow the prompts on the website to create your profile.

You can join whenever you wish – Get Active Victoria is an ongoing initiative giving Victorians access to an ever-growing set of tools and resources for living a more active life.

What happens when I join?

You’ll be asked to verify your email address with a link we send you. Then, once the account is verified, you’ll receive a welcome email.

The welcome email includes:

  • Your account details for future reference
  • All the information you’ll need to get started with Get Active Victoria

You can log in to the Get Active Victoria platform to:

  • Update your profile
  • Create and join teams with friends, family, and colleagues
  • Refer a friend, or register children under 15 years of age within your account
  • Log and track your activity
What happens if I registered for Premier’s Active April in 2020?

Get Active Victoria is a new initiative from the Victorian State Government to inspire all Victorians to move more, every day.

If you signed up to Premier’s Active April in 2020, your profile and login information automatically transfer to Get Active Victoria.

How do I register children or other people?

We encourage individual registrations where possible.

To register children under 15 years old, or people without a personal email address, you need to register yourself first, then add them to your account by:

  • Following the prompts at the end of registration to ‘Register friends and family’
  • Or, adding account members after you’ve logged in

Adding Account Members after I’ve logged in:

Head to the Get Active Victoria platform

From the DASHBOARD, click the ‘Add Account Members’ button and follow the prompts. Or, go to PROFILE and complete the ‘Register Account Member’ form.

  • Your Account Members will appear in your profile, listed in the table down the right-hand side of the page – you can have up to 50 account members
  • Click ‘Edit’ to edit an Account Member’s details, or move them into their own account

If you have questions around the limit for Account Members please email getactive@sport.vic.gov.au

What happens if I don’t receive the verification email?

To complete registration, you need to click the link in the verification email sent to your registered email address.

If you don’t receive the email, please follow these steps:

  • Check your junk or spam folders (search ‘Get Active Victoria’ or getactive@sport.vic.gov.au)
  • Save our email address to your address book to ensure future emails come through

It’s also possible an error was made when entering your email address during registration – if you’re still having problems receiving emails please contact us.

If you and your work colleagues aren’t receiving emails, it’s possible your workplace network is treating them as spam. Speak to your System Administrator to ask that getactive@sport.vic.gov.au to be whitelisted, and please contact us with any further questions.

What happens if I forget my password?

Don’t worry. Head to the Get Active platform. From the LOGIN page, click ‘Reset Password’ and follow the prompts. We’ll send a reset password link to your inbox.

How will my personal information be used?

The privacy of your personal information is of paramount importance to us. Please view our Privacy Notice to understand how your information will be used.

Tracker

How do I track my activity?

With our tracker!

Log in to the Get Active Victoria platform, then click on TRACKER in the navigation bar. Update your activity manually, or, if you own a Fitbit, you can sync it with the tracker to update automatically (see steps in the following FAQ).

Tracking activity isn’t mandatory, but it’s a great tool if you’re reaching for a goal. It can help motivate you to keep going, and celebrate the wins along the way.

How do I sync my Fitbit with the Get Active Victoria web app?
  1. Log in to the Get Active Victoria platform
  2. Head to PROFILE
  3. Under ‘My Fitbit’, click on the link to connect Fitbit
  4. Follow the prompts through to completion
  5. Your Fitbit should be connected and ready to track your activity automatically – all you have to do is remember to move for 30 minutes each day

How do I record activity for my account members?

By using the ‘Logged In As’ function:

  • After logging in to the Get Active Victoria platform click on the arrow next to your name in the top right corner of the screen
  • Choose the Account Member to ‘Log In As’ to view the platform as though you were them
  • Click TRACKER in the navigation bar, then record their activity

Account Members can also log in themselves, to your account, using their username and password to track their own activity.

Add activity for an entire team

A Team Owner can add activity for an entire team.

  • If you’re the Team Owner, log in to the Get Active Victoria platform and head to TRACKER in the navigation bar
  • Check the box: ‘Tick if you completed this activity with others’ to add time to your teammates’ trackers.
What should I be aiming for?

Challenge yourself to do 30+ minutes of physical activity per day, on as many days as you can. Set attainable goals for your level of ability, and remember that you can break up the 30+ minutes into smaller sessions throughout the day.

Teams

How do teams work within Get Active Victoria?

For lots of us, a team’s a great way to stay motivated, which is why Get Active Victoria lets you create or join a team with family, friends and colleagues. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to get active together. Instead, a team allows a group of members to see each others’ activity, recorded with the tracker, to encourage each other, or even hold each other accountable to a goal.

How do I invite friends and family to join my team?

After logging in to the Get Active Victoria platform head to TEAMS in the navigation bar.

‘Create A Team’, then invite people to join using their email address or their Get Active Victoria username – they’ll get an emailed invite with easy instructions to join.

Can people request to join my team?

Yes, but they’ll need to know the unique Team ID number.

Then, after joining Get Active Victoria and logging in they can head to TEAMS in the navigation bar, and enter the Team ID into the ‘Request to Join a Team’ field.

Can I delete a team I’ve created?

Yes, but remember, deleted teams cannot be recovered.

If I've added people into my team, but later decide to delete this team, will I be deleting their registrations?

No, deleting a team only deletes the grouping of people but not their individual accounts – this even applies to members registered within your account.

I’m on the Teams page, but I can’t see 'Create a Team'. Why?

If you’re a member of someone else’s account (usually because you’re under 15, or don’t have a personal email address) you’re unable to be a Team Owner for security reasons. You can still join up to 10 teams.

I’ve added someone into my account but they’re not showing up in the 'Logged in as' menu. Why?

If you’ve just registered this person you’ll need to refresh the page to see them in the menu. Try that, or simply click to another page, then back, and it will refresh itself.

I created/joined a team for Premier’s Active April 2020 (this year). Does the team also carry over?

Yes. Your team/s also carry over.

Log in to the Get Active Victoria platform and you’ll find your team/s by clicking on TEAMS in the navigation bar.
